Core competency: Hazardous waste

As a waste management company Lindenschmidt Umweltservice makes an active contribution to a clean environment and climate protection in Germany and Europe.

In 2014 our company processed more than 100.000 tonnes of waste (mainly hazardous). Working with the highest standards of safety and modern technology, we recycled and recovered 78% of the waste. The remaining 22% were disposed of in an environment-friendly way.

Our different processes for waste treatment offer a solution for almost all types of hazardous waste.

Production of substitution fuel

Fuel made of waste

In incineration plants substitution fuel is used as an alternative to fossil fuel like oil or coal. The substitution fuel that we produce is mostly used in cement plants which have a high energy demand. Waste is useful for the production of substitution fuel and saves natural resources. The emission of CO2, which would be caused in incineration plants and by decomposition on landfills, is reduced.

The extremely high gas temperatures in a cement kiln and the long incineration time of the waste are particularly beneficial for the waste treatment. In this way ideal conditions for a complete destruction of all organic fractions arise. Because of the construction of a cement kiln the combustion gases are cleaned extremely efficiently. In opposition to waste incineration this process doesn´t leave any waste because the mineral components of the ashes are fully integrated in the cement.

The fuel produced from waste by Lindenschmidt Umweltservice replaces fossil fuel. Every year more than 10.000 tonnes of oil and 15.000 tonnes of coal can be saved.

Plant for chemical-physical treatment

Biology, physics and chemistry

Using natural science and technology we make the most of your waste – namely with biological, chemical and physical methods. These methods are particularly employed for liquids.

Here are some examples:

Chemical processes:

Liquids are often emulsions or dispersions of different substances. In our plants for chemical treatment we can separate them by changing the pH level. In this way every single fraction can be given back to the material cycle.

Physical processes:

In order to divide substances which are blended in waste, we use their different physical properties. Our high-tech-machines segregate materials based on different density, particle size or evaporation points so that they can be reused in industries.

Biological processes:

The waste water that accrues from the treatment of waste is cleaned in our high performance biological sewage plant. The contaminated air is cleaned through our modern bio filters. The energy that arises from these processes is used as process heat.

Recycling plant

Recycling of hazardous waste

Hazardous waste consists of many contents which are too precious for a special waste-incinerator or for a landfill. These fractions are recovered by technics of shredding, sorting and cleaning and are given back to industry for reuse. Our company recycles more than 1000 tonnes of scrap and plastic materials every year.
